Student Profile: Emma Navajas
Emma will attend graduate school and begin working on obtaining her Master's of Public Health in Epidemiology with an emphasis on chronic disease. Currently, she has been accepted to several graduate programs, including at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and Columbia University.

Further research by Cuajungco and his students identified another protein called "TMEM163" that interacts with TRPML1 and binds zinc, which could explain why zinc levels in lysosomes of ML-IV patients' cells are abnormal.
